Canine Wellness Care Keeps Your Dog Healthy!

Regular wellness care will keep your dog healthy for a long lifetime to spend with you and your family. Brookdale Animal Hospital’s comprehensive wellness care program for dogs includes:

  • An annual physical examination
  • Dental exam
  • Vaccinations tailored specifically for your dog
  • Flea and tick prevention
  • Heartworm testing and prevention

We form an individualized wellness care plan for your dog that caters to your dog’s individual needs. These are based on factors including their breed, physical condition, lifestyle, age, and previous immunization history.

Nutritional counseling is an important part of wellness care for your dog. We monitor your dog’s weight so that we can recommend modifications in diet or exercise if needed. A healthy body weight is important for your dog to have a long and healthy life.

On the day of your dog’s wellness appointment, we ask that you bring in a stool sample (ideally less than twelve hours old) with your dog. Please try to have your dog leashed when coming into the hospital.

These appointments are also an excellent time for you to address questions about your pet’s health with us. Please call us to schedule an appointment or request more information today.

Canine Vaccinations

Vaccinating your dog keeps your dog healthy by preventing serious diseases. At Brookdale Animal Hospital, we tailor vaccines for each dog. Dogs have different lifestyles and risks of exposure. Each dog is given individual attention and consideration at vaccination time. We will take into consideration your pet’s age and lifestyle, including exposure to the outdoors, travel/boarding plans, breed, health status, age, and immune health. These factors may change over time, so we will review your dog’s vaccination plan with you at each wellness exam.

Please discuss with us what you have planned for your dog’s life in the months ahead and what has recently happened. Information about vaccination reactions in the past is of critical importance for your dog’s safety during future vaccinations, so be sure to discuss your dog’s vaccination history with us.
